The 2022 Ashridge Park FC Tournament

Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th of June 2022 saw the return of the mighty Ashridge Park Football Club Summer Tournament following a two year hiatus due to a Global Pandemic.

It was a daunting prospect, like restarting a business that has been closed for two years but boy was it worth the effort. We were blessed with dry sunny days and a festival of kids football over the two days.

We welcomed 217 teams over the weekend from Under7's up to our Under 16's invitationals.

Those teams played a total of 608 games and scored a recorded 624 Goals.

Over the weekend our live leagues and scores app saw a total of 32,458 page views. 14,839 on Saturday with 17,619 on Sunday. That came from 2,239 people, the bulk of which were looking live in real time across the 12 pitches and other facilities on the St. Crispins field, but there were more.

97%, 1,879 of those people were in the UK, the US saw our next biggest audience with 46 people and Spain and Ireland both recorded a brace of viewers with Germany, France, Turkey and Zimbabwe all having at least one Ashridge fan avidly checking the live scores of their teams progress.

Of the UK fanbase most were in the Wokingham/Reading geo based on mobile signals, with London, Bracknell, Oxford, Croydon, High Wycombe (welcome Mr. Ainsworth no doubt scouting for the Chair Boys), Slough, Earley, Birmingham, Woodley, Leeds and Edinburgh all boasting fans numbering into double figures. As in Life Liverpool just missed out on the top flight registering just 8 people only 2 more than the UK's spiritual home of Football, Southampton.

All of this is only possible with the teams that played over the two day and we, as a club, would like to thank each and every one of you who took part in making such a special weekend either in person or virtually.

It's great to be back. Now to plan 2023!
