Eton Mess

U16s: Windsor Youth Harriers Gladiators 3 Ashridge Park 1

Playing in the shadow of Eton College, Ashridge struggle to come to terms with a lively Windsor attack in the first half, falling behind after 2 minutes and narrowly escaping further early damage only due to some slack finishing. The visitors level through Jamie Cole, only to fall behind again immediately, with a third coming on the half hour. After sacrificing their main attacking threat to bolster the centre of midfield, Ashridge put on a much improved defensive display in the second half, and hold the final score at 3-1.

Mustangs Quick Out Of the Stalls

U16s: Ashridge Park 2 Caversham AFC Mustangs 3

A dozy start from the home side costs them dear as Caversham hold on to take the points in a grandstand finish. The visitors strike in the first minute and go 2-0 up prior to the quarter hour, before Ashridge start to battle back into the game. Bertie Wilson pulls one back on the hour for Ashridge, but as the home side press for an equalizer, Caversham strike again with three minutes to go; only for Dan Baker to reduce the deficit once more a minute later.

Jaguar Car Crash

U16s: Berks County Jaguars 6 Ashridge Park 1

After a competitive first half finishes level at 1-1 on the astroturf at Bracknell, Ashridge are steam-rollered in the second, with a lack of fitness all too apparent. Antonio Baciu had put the visitors in front from the penalty spot, but Ashridge fail to capitalise on other opportunities including a missed second penalty towards the end. James Riley and Jamie Cole share the star player award in recognition of the huge workload both got through in trying to stem the tide.

Renegades Runaround

U16s: Ashridge Park 1 Camberley Town Youth Renegades 4

A slow start from Ashridge sees Camberley gain early control of the game, taking a 2-0 lead ten minutes into the second half. Ashridge claw their way back into contention, with James Riley finding the net directly from a free kick. After the home side then spurn chances to level, some sloppy defending in the closing stages allow the Renegades to score twice giving the scoreline a more emphatic feel.

Late Blow Sees Ashridge Beaten Again

U16s: Binfield Bullets 2 Ashridge Park 1

For the second time this season, Binfield Bullets walk away with the points following a winner in the dying stages of the match - this time a controversial one as the ball is knocked out of the Ashridge keeper's hands. Ashridge lead at half-time as Antonio Baciu converts a wonderful strike in off the crossbar seconds after hitting the wrong side of the same bar from the penalty spot. Binfield, with the wind at their backs, have the better of the second half, and level mid-way through following a scramble from a corner.

U16s: Ashridge Park 3 Rotherfield Utd Colts 4

Ashridge set aside their season-long goal drought and take the game to the division leaders. An early brace from Jack Gillingham puts the home side two up, before an exchange of goals makes it 3-1 with Alex Ayton registering his first goal in 3 seasons. In an entertaining and end-to-end first half, Rotherfield strike back and draw level by half-time. The second half doesn't quite live up to the same levels as both teams tired, and the visitors go on to take the points with a winner eleven minutes from time.

Ashridge Aced

U16s: Ashridge Park 0 Arborfield Aces 6

Not a good day for Ashridge as an off-colour performance is emphatically punished by Arborfield. Most of the damage came late in the game with three of the goals coming in the last five minutes as the side became increasingly ragged. At the other end, half-chances were created, but finishing was below par.

New Year's Resolve

U16s: STB&G FC Royals 0 Ashridge Park 1

Ashridge start 2020 by registering their first three-point haul of the season, and in the process lift themselves off the foot of the table. A single strike from Jack Gillingham just after the half-hour make settles matters as the Ashridge defence stands firm to notch up their second successive clean sheet. Ashridge create the better opportunities throughout the game, but lack the clinical finish required to pull off a more emphatic win. Jamie Cole claims the star player award as the most influential figure in the middle of the park.

Plucky Point for Patched-Up Park

U16s: Laurel Park Tornadoes 0 Ashridge Park 0

An Ashridge side with just the bare eleven available, three of the back four missing, and two of those on the field also under the weather, nonetheless dig in and come away with a draw for only their second point of the season. A game of few clear-cut chances; James Roberts getting the nod for star player for a typically whole-hearted performance in the centre of defence.

Windsor Strike Late

U16s: Ashridge Park 1 Windsor Youth Harriers Gladiators 3

Two goals in the last ten minutes see Windsor overcome some stubborn Ashridge resistance to claim the three points. After Windsor take a fifth minute lead, star player Joe Savory keeps Ashridge in the game with a string of fine saves. Ashridge carve out a few chances of their own, and Felix Galla-Taylor fires home an equaliser nine minutes into the second half, but Windsor's late brace leaves Ashridge beaten once more. Nonetheless an improved performance, and something to build on for the next game.
