Happy Travels for Park

U17s: Curley Park Rangers Tornadoes 2 Ashridge Park 4

After three successive home defeats, Ashridge take to the road again and preserve their unbeaten away record for the season with a deserved three points at Curley Park. A spectacular strike from Toni Baciu puts the blues in front on the quarter hour, but the home side level in first half injury time. A great solo run and shot from Sachin Vara restores the lead prior to the hour mark, only for Curley Park to level again shortly after with a stunning effort, which turns out to be their only notable shot on goal of the entire half. Ashridge gradually grind their opponents down, and goals from Jamie Cole and Toni Baciu in the last quarter hour bring home the points.

Crispinophobia

U17s: Ashridge Park 3 Shinfield Rangers 4

Ashridge extend their woeful home record with their 4th defeat in 4 appearances at St Crispins this season. An insipid first half display costs the side dear, as they go in 0-2 down, with only some fine saves from star player Joe Savory keeping them with a foothold in the game. A much-improved effort in the second-half sees Ashridge level with strikes from Jamie Cole and Bertie Wilson, but as the home side press for the winner, Shinfield break and re-take the lead. The visitors seal it with a fourth in injury time, before Ashridge strike again through Ice Goswell.

Park Subside in Quagmire

U17s: Ashridge Park 3 Berks County Pumas 4

In attrocious conditions Ashridge squander a comfortable 3-0 lead to go down to a third consecutive home defeat. Early strikes from Bertie Wilson, Ice Goswell and Toni Baciu look to set up a big win, but as the pitch conditions get steadily worse, Berks prove the stronger and strike back to take the points. A day for the scrappers rather than the touch players, and Marcus Coppen takes the star player recognition for competing whole-heartedly throughout.

Harriers Too Hot to Handle

U17s: Ashridge Park 2 Windsor Youth Harriers Gladiators 5

Table-topping Windsor preserve their 100% league record with a comfortable win at St Crispins against a depleted Ashridge side. In a game packed with quality finishes, the visitors strike early only for Ashridge to come from behind to lead at the mid-point of the first half with two more goals for Toni Baciu. A brace in the last ten minutes of the half restores the visitors' lead at the break, before a screamer early in the second period provides a cushion. A scruffy fifth rounds off affairs just after the mid-point of the half.

Titans Toppled

U17s: Binfield Titans 1 Ashridge Park 4

Ashridge start slowly on the astroturf at Binfield and fall behind in freakish fashion as a cross from the right flank finds the back of the net. Binfield lend the away side a hand with the leveller as the keeper punches an inswinging corner directly into his own net. Ashridge take control in the second half with Jack Clayton and Toni Baciu (2) settling matters, with a few other chances going to waste. Sachin Vara takes star player, running the game from the centre of midfield in the second period.

Ashridge Out-Gun Bullets

U17s: Binfield Bullets 0 Ashridge Park 3

Ashridge carry the superior fire power as they claim a comfortable (in the end) win on a billiard table of a pitch at Kings Academy in Binfield. After surviving a few defensive slips early on, Ashridge take the lead just before half time through man-of-the-match Adam Williams, who then nods in a corner to extend the lead just after the hour. Further chances go begging before Toni Baciu rounds off the win with a last-minute tap-in.

Park Soar Above Hawks

U17s: FC Holyport Hawks 1 Ashridge Park 2

Ashridge make use of their newly-acquired aerial prowess to pull off a cup shock at Division 3 side Holyport Hawks. After Adam Williams puts the visitors in front with a powerful header from James Riley's free-kick, Jamie Cole leaps high to nod in Toni Baciu's corner for a second midway through the first half. The home side rarely look like getting back into it, and only narrow the deficit courtesy of a hotly-disputed penalty award 15 minutes from time.

Heads-Up Park Claim Panthers Point

U17s: Burnham Junior Panthers Yellow 3 Ashridge Park 3

An unprecedented brace of headed goals help Ashridge to an entertaining draw at Burnham. After Felix Galla-Taylor nods in Adam Williams' excellent cross for an early lead, Park are on the back foot for much of the half before conceding twice on the half hour. The defecit is wiped out immediately as Toni Baciu charges down a clearance to level. Burnham strike early in the second half, but Ashridge come on strong as the game progresses and level again through Adam Williams's header ten minutes from time.

Taplow Edge To Narrow Win

U17s: Ashridge Park 0 Taplow United Youth 1

A solitary strike just after the hour is enough to take the spoils for the visitors in this hard-fought game. Taplow enjoy the best of the first period before Ashridge come back into contention in the second, but two well-organised defences create a game with few clear-cut opportunities. Josh Palmer takes the star player award for a confident display at the heart of the Ashridge back four.

New-Look Ashridge Rein In Stallions

U17s: Caversham AFC Stallions 3 Ashridge Park 6

Five debutants for the U17s provide a breath of fresh air as football returns. Undaunted by an early setback as Caversham take the lead on 10 minutes, Ashridge create a stack of chances, before finally levelling just after the half-hour. The dam then bursts and four more goals follow in the next 25 minutes to leave the blues firmly in control and hunting more goals, before a combination of over-exuberance and tiredness allow the home side to strike back. Three of the debutants among the goals: Ice Goswell (2), Sachin Vara and Adam Williams, with Jamie Cole and Antonio Baciu also on target.
