For the second week running just 11 players available for the match, and for the second week running the 11 won stretching the unbeaten run to 5 games.
Ashridge started the brighter with Tommy getting off a couple of his left foot specials both saved by the keeper. It was Olly who gave us the lead with a “belter of a shot” ( quote by a parent) from outside the area to which the keeper did not move as it flew over his head.
The highlight of the next 10 minutes was the match ball, then its replacement flying into a garden. It was left to a man with a dubious background to find a way into the locked garden and retrieve the two balls.
Fleet equalised after 30 minutes with a good shot from the edge of the area.
The last goal of the match came shortly before half time when we were awarded a penalty for hand ball and Fin scored his 4th penalty of the season. Lets just say we were fortunate if it had been given against drums would have been pounded.
The second half was fairly even and for the last 20 minutes we struggled as 2 players had to stay on the pitch despite being reduced to walking due to injuries.
Another spirited display by the team.
