In a match played in snowy arctic conditions, on a very heavy pitch nicely churned up from the match beforehand, it was difficult for the two teams to show much quality.
On 32 minutes Ashridge took the lead with a superb goal that belied everything that had preceded it. An exquisite chipped pass from Jimmy put Ben clean through the middle, he deftly took one touch to lob the keeper, 1-0.
70 minutes - Englefield broke down the right hand side, a good cross wasn't properly dealt with, resulting in a tap in at the far post, 1-1.
75 minutes - Mitch broke through and was hauled down by the keeper. He picked himself up to slot home the resulting penalty, only to be told to retake it because the keeper was off his line!! He calmly retook the spot kick, putting it in exactly the same spot, 2-1.
87 minutes - Englefield get a penalty when Tommy puts in a last ditch tackle. Dan's delaying tactics work, when the Englefield taker tamely puts the kick straight down the middle of the goal into his hands.
90 minutes - Ashridge survive an almighty goalmouth scramble following a corner, to emerge with a slightly fortuitous win.
